The basic information on how to make a 4 legged walker can be found here. This robot has fascinated me and I've helped the person who made this robot code the program (a really tiny correction). The order in which the parts are posted is random and I'll definitely have to add some more servos for the robotic arm. I have to decide on whether to make it 1 DOF, 2 DOF or 3 DOF. The parts posted as of now will just be used to make a body for the four legged walker and mechanism for it to detect obstacles and color. More info can be found here on LMR. My robot will be able to locate itself in the room using 4 IR beacons for triangulation all of which (the beacons obviously) will be controlled by a central processor. The bot will also have infrared sensors for obstacle detection and color sensors for finding the correct color and may also have conductivity sensors which will find if the object is conducting or not (that will depend on my experiments with the coke can which is my subject). In the end, if everything goes right, I'll have a robot which will be able to find you a coke can kept on the floor and bring it back for you.
My sensor is going to be mounted on a piece of cardboard or wood with 1 servo and is going to have a infrared distance sensor using modulated infrared at 38kHz (link here) and a color sensor (link here).
